A two-day Women Business Fair on June 23 & 24, 2009 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Lahore to commemorate 2nd Anniversary of the Women Business Incubation Center, Lahore. Pakistan Ms. Shaheen Attiquer Rehman, Former Minster and a renowned Social Welfare Leader is going to open the Fair on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. The Fair will remain open for public on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11-00 am to 11-00 pm by offering Garments, Jewelry, Home Décor, Perfumes and a number of the other products for on spot sale. The Fair also includes a few family entertainments like Magic/Puppet Show, Face Painting and, off course, Lucky Draws. You all are invited to visit the Fair along with you families and kids after office hours. We pleased to inform you that Women Business Fair is the first ever solo exhibition organized by SMEDA. General public has been invited to visit this event through mass media utilizing following means of marketing; Mobile Float: It is roaming on major roads of the town from June 18, 2009 during 12 am to 12 pm. A Ticker is running on City 42 Channel from June 19, 2009 Banners have been hanged on major market spots. Announcements on FM-103 are being made during prime driving timings along with BBC news bulletins. Flex Standies have been placed in some of the selected outlets. SMEDA’s Women Business Fair achieves success Lahore, June 23, 2009 Ms. Shaheen Attiquer Rehman, Former Minister and Social Welfare Leader opened the two-day Women Business Fair arranged by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) today at a local hotel to commemorate 2nd Anniversary of its Women Business Incubation Center. Mr. Shahid Rashid, Chief Executive Officer, SMEDA delivered address of welcome in the inaugural ceremony which was attended by a large number of women business leaders including SMEDAs GM Syed Iqbal Anwar Kidwai and Mr. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi; Mr. Liaqat Ali Gohar, Convener, Organizing Committee of the Fair, Ms. Aisha Amjad, Project Director, WBIC and Ms. Maimona Sattar, Project Manager, WBIC. While addressing as Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Ms. Shaheen Attiqur Rehman appreciated SMEDA endeavors to enhance economic empowerment of women in the country. She urged SMEDA to continue its efforts in the same zeal. She appealed the government to further strengthen national institutions like SMEDA.
