The Mothers of Invention event at the British Library brought together inspirational and pioneering female entrepreneurs who have developed their own businesses. Here, Shazia Awan, founder of Peachy Pink, talks to the audience about how she came up with the idea for her business and how she capitalised on her success to broaden her range.


Laura Tenison conceived her childrens clothes business in 1993 after a severe car accident in France; the woman in the hospital bed beside her complained about the standard of mail-order kids clothes.
