In January 2011 IE Business School hosted an event in Munich that aimed to address the unique challenges faced by women in the workplace. Multinational companies including Allianz and Deutsche Telekom were invited to speak about their initiatives to promote the female workforce and give advice on career development.

While some women will say that they do not encounter gender-bias in the corporate world, others complain that they have to show an extra level of excellence and competence to men and women alike.
