I am looking at purchasing a cosmetic company from a women who has been in business for 25 years. I do not have all the details yet, but I do know she has done $50,000 in sales the past three years and said she would be asking around $100,000. This price would only included inventory and customer goodwill. I would have to put in new fixtures, lighting, flooring, paint, and buy point of sales software. The company does not have franchise fees or royalty fees. It is in a rural area in Georgia. Does this sound like a fair offer? What else do I need to take into consideration?
I’m planning to open a small business in my area. I am a women and a minority, I hear rumors that there is grant money available but i also hear that there is not. PLEASE HELP. Also if there is please include information or ideas on how to go about obtaining the grants. loans are NOTan option.
When asked recently on CBS how a woman running a small business might benefit from the Obama stimulus package, Biden responded:
“I would recommend that woman call my office directly, and I will be able to guide her as to what pieces of this package would be directly helpful to her. For example, it may very well be that she’s in a circumstance where she is not able, her customers aren’t able to get to her, there’s no transit capability, the bridge going across the creek to get to her business needs repair, may very well be that she’s in a position where she is unable to access the — her energy costs are so high by providing smart meters, by being able to bring down the cost of her workforce.”
It’s that guy- Remember that if customers can’t cross the creek to get to your business, give Biden a call. By the way, if your business grows (as I hope it does) and you start employing people, you’d better hope the democrats don’t cram “card check” through. And best of luck with your business.
Hello everyone, one of my best friends is starting a coffee shop in Lake City, Colorado. She has everything ready to open. She just needs $30,000 to open her doors and get things rolling. However, she is young (20) and she cannot seem to get a loan because of her credit and lack of collateral. She is very responsible… but this is merely because she hasn’t built her credit or collateral.
Her direct quote is, “I am in the process of opening a coffee shop but I am lacking funds. I have all my contacts set up, I have a business plan and a building. All I need to get my doors open is money.
I have been declined on loans due to lack of credit and collateral. This is only because I am young and haven’t built it, not because I am irresponsible or flakey. Please help if you can.”
Does anyone know how she could open her business? Is there any loans that are trustworthy… that would help a young woman start a small business? Is there anyone that would invest for this to happen?
