Women entrepreneurs in today’s business world

I’m a civil litigator with 10 years of experience defending individuals and businesses locally and nationally. I would like to start my own boutique litigation firm, specializing in representing minority women business owners and small to mid-size businesses on litigation matters. Any suggestions for how to get started, possible office space, etc.? Thanks!
I’m licensed in Missouri, Illinois, and Colorado.

Fortune Magazine chose ten emerging female entrepreneurs to join the annual Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit September 14-16, 2009. The ten women joined 400 of the countrys most prominent women leaders in business, philanthropy, government, education and the arts for the series of panel discussions, on-stage interviews and interactive sessions over the course of three days in Aviara, California. This new program targets entrepreneurial women who are game changers, ground-breakers and innovators in their fields. American Express OPEN is the Founding Partner of Fortunes Most Powerful Women in Small Business Initiative. Fortune and American Express OPEN honored the 10 winners at a special reception at the summit. The Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit is the premiere gathering of its kind, bringing together the countrys top women in business. The 2009 theme was Betting on the Future—ideas about the key challenges—technological, geopolitical, and social—that are reshaping our organizations and our world. The program was built around five pillars: Leadership, Innovation, Finance and the Economy, Global Connections, and The Common Good.

I’m trying to get a small business started, and am looking for grants and loans for women’s small business. I am located in Montana, but am willing to put in some hard work in getting some grants to get started… Any suggestions?

The business I started is currently in Tennessee’s largest indoor flea market. I’ve been open for approx.4 months and have already establised a customer base. I have yet to do my business cards or open a business account because I can’t decide on a name. I sell clothing and accessories and they are all new or like-new and very much in-style and classy clothes. I have a range of styles…trendy, classic, chic, etc. I want the name to reflect what I sell and also be catchy but not tacky. A few ideas I’ve had are: Diversity, First Impressions, Lasting Impressions, Impressions, No Limits, Mirror Image, Unlimited, and a few more. I know this should be an easy task but, every time I think of a name, I also think how it will sound when I answer the phone when I do move to my own place. I feel I need to hurry because without bus. cards, or a name, my business just doesn’t seem professional. So far nothing has ” stuck”. Something short but easy to remember. Any help appreciated. Thank you!
