SMEDA’s Women Business Fair achieves success Lahore, June 23, 2009 Ms. Shaheen Attiquer Rehman, Former Minister and Social Welfare Leader opened the two-day Women Business Fair arranged by Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) today at a local hotel to commemorate 2nd Anniversary of its Women Business Incubation Center. Mr. Shahid Rashid, Chief Executive Officer, SMEDA delivered address of welcome in the inaugural ceremony which was attended by a large number of women business leaders including SMEDAs GM Syed Iqbal Anwar Kidwai and Mr. Muhammad Jamil Afaqi; Mr. Liaqat Ali Gohar, Convener, Organizing Committee of the Fair, Ms. Aisha Amjad, Project Director, WBIC and Ms. Maimona Sattar, Project Manager, WBIC. While addressing as Chief Guest of the inaugural ceremony, Ms. Shaheen Attiqur Rehman appreciated SMEDA endeavors to enhance economic empowerment of women in the country. She urged SMEDA to continue its efforts in the same zeal. She appealed the government to further strengthen national institutions like SMEDA.
