Grants are getting harder and harder to come by as they’ve been seriously reduced in recent years. There are some grants available in regeneration zones such as inner cities and former mining areas but again, these are being cut back on.

On source worth approaching is the Prince of Wales Young Persons Business Trust (or similar name). You could also try contacting what used to be called the Small Firms Service or Small Firms Advisory Service which is a subsidiary of the Department for Trade and Industry.

Your best bet though is probably to call in at a job centre in your area as they’ll know what’s available locally and they can also arrange for you to attend free training sessions in areas such as marketing, book-keeping etc.

Good luck with your business venture.

UK has a Grants and Support directory database that you can use to search for grants. Use the database and see if you can find one for your purposes
